Man City: A Defensive Masterclass Unbeaten Streak Lives On
Manchester City, on the other hand, continued their incredible defensive streak on the road. Despite conceding a goal in their latest away match, they have only conceded once in their last seven away games, a defensive record unmatched since the start of the 2023/24 season. City remains at the top of the table with a goal difference of +7 (9 – 2), being unbeaten in 24 games in a row!
Atletico Madrid: Home Halve Draws Becoming Rare
Atletico Madrid has been formidable at home, but this week saw their first second-half draw in 16 matches. Compared to last season, they drew in the same number of matches up to 6 times.
FC Barcelona’s Winning Ways
Barcelona ended a unique streak this week when they lost the first half away to Rayo Vallecano after 11 matches of first halves. Despite this, they came back strong to win the game 2-1. In their next match at home, they completely dismantled Valladolid with a 7-0 victory, scoring three goals in the first half alone, finally ending their streak of low-scoring first halves.
Real Madrid: Uncharacteristic First-Half Loss
Real Madrid experienced a rare first-half loss in their match against Las Palmas. This was their first time trailing at halftime in 14 matches. However, they managed to recover and salvage a 1-1 draw
Bayer Leverkusen’s Unbeaten Streak Ends
Perhaps the most dramatic event of the week happened in the Bundesliga, where Bayer Leverkusen’s incredible 35-match unbeaten streak came to an end. At home, they had not lost in 19 matches, but RB Leipzig mounted a stunning comeback. Leverkusen led 2-0 late in the first half, but Leipzig scored three goals to win 3-2. This loss marks the end of Leverkusen’s incredible run and highlights the competitiveness of the Bundesliga
